When you click a phone number link on a webpage, your operating system opens the app set as the default calling application. This article explains how to set Aircall Workspace as that default on macOS and Windows.

macOS

Steps:

  1. Open FaceTime and sign in if prompted.
  2. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click FaceTime.
  3. Select Preferences (or Settings on macOS Ventura and later).
  4. In the Default for calls dropdown, select Aircall Workspace.
Note: If you do not see Aircall Workspace in the dropdown, make sure the Aircall Workspace desktop app is installed and has been opened at least once.

Windows 10

Steps:

  1. Open the Windows menu and go to Settings.
  2. Select Apps > Default apps.
  3. Click Choose default apps by protocol.
  4. Scroll down to find TEL or URL:Tel Protocol.
  5. Click the current app shown and select Aircall Workspace from the list.

Windows 11

Steps:

  1. Open the Windows menu and go to Settings.
  2. Select Apps > Default apps.
  3. In the search bar, type tel and select it from the results.
  4. Click the app shown next to the TEL protocol and select Aircall Workspace.
Note: If Aircall Workspace does not appear in the list on either operating system, ensure the desktop app is installed from aircall.io/download and has been launched at least once.
